About The Program:  In this session, participants will explore how generational shifts in wealth and current economic conditions are reshaping the landscape of planned giving knowing that 90% of wealth is not “liquid” for nonprofits to access immediately.  The presentation begins by examining today’s wealth distribution across generations—highlighting how Baby Boomers continue to hold the majority of assets while Gen X and Millennials rapidly accumulate wealth and display different philanthropic motivations. Against this backdrop, we’ll address how inflation and turbulent markets influence donor behavior, investment decisions, and the design of legacy gifts. The session balances data-driven insights with actionable tools fundraisers can apply immediately to strengthen both current and future planned giving outcomes.

Two Take-Aways for the Audience

  •  Motivation drives method - Donors rarely begin with a technical tool; they start with values, identify and legacy.  Your roll is to uncover the "why" before introducing the "how".
  • Planned giving conversations are practical and accessible -- Most gifts come through simple vehicles (wills, trusts, beneficiary designations).  By asking the right discovery questions and partnering with advisors,
